Short version: Your files never leave your device. We collect no personal data, run no analytics, and have no user accounts. This policy explains what little we do track and why.
What we do not collect
Most privacy policies list what companies collect. We think it is more useful to start with what we do not:
- Your files, filenames, or any file content
- Your name, email address, or any contact information
- Your IP address or location data
- Cookies for tracking or advertising
- Any form of user account or login data
All file renaming happens entirely inside your browser using JavaScript. Nothing is uploaded to our servers at any point.
What we do collect
Basic server logs
When your browser requests our web pages, our hosting provider automatically records a standard access log entry. This includes the page URL, date and time, browser type, and referring page. These logs are used solely to keep the site running and are deleted automatically after 30 days. They are not linked to any individual and are not sold or shared.
Contact form submissions
If you choose to contact us using our contact form, we receive your message and the email address you provide. We use this only to respond to your enquiry. We do not add you to any mailing list or share your details with third parties.
Cookies
We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or analytics cookies. Our site may set a basic session cookie to remember your preference if you toggle a setting, but this contains no personal information and expires when you close your browser.
Third-party services
We load fonts from Google Fonts. Google may log the font request, which includes your IP address and browser type. You can read Google's privacy policy for details. We load the Font Awesome icon library and the JSZip file-packaging library from cdnjs.cloudflare.com. Cloudflare may log these requests in the same way.
We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other behavioural tracking service.
Your rights
Because we collect almost no personal data, there is very little for us to retrieve, correct, or delete on your behalf. If you submitted a contact form and would like us to delete your message, email us at privacy@filerenamer.online and we will do so within 30 days.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change what we collect or how we use it, we will update this page and change the date below. We will not retroactively make significant changes without notice.
